langkawi-top-10-things-to-do

One of our absolute favorite places in the world is the beautiful Langkawi, Malaysia! We are so excited to bring you this Langkawi Top 10 so that you can see for yourself all of the amazing things you can do on Langkawi Island!

Langkawi Top 10 Places to Visit

  1. Langkawi 3D Museum

Starting off our Langkawi Top 10, The 3D Museum was such a fun place to visit and take tons of pictures! It literally has dozens of rooms filled with epic 3D murals of Dinosaurs, ancient Egyptians, and even some optical illusions along the way. Make sure you bring your camera and a willing friend because you’re going to want to stop in every room!

  1. Eagle Watching

Langkawi is very famous for its eagles, so much so that it’s even the island’s symbol! If you are a bird watching aficionado, don’t miss the many eagle feedings around the island. Keep in mind, PETA does not extend to Malaysia and they feed the Eagles KFC, but remember this is a different culture, and the view of the birds is still spectacular!

  1. Langkawi Sky Bridge

A trip to Langkawi simply wouldn’t be complete without visiting the Langkawi Skybridge. If you like adventure, then this is the activity for you! This suspension bridge hovers 2,165 feet above Langkawi’s tallest Mountain, Gunung Mat Cincang, and is the tallest suspension bridge in the world held up by a single pylon! It boasts dramatic panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, Langkawi’s gorgeous turquoise water and, dozens of little islands in the area.

If you’re scared of heights, be warned that the bridge does move around with the wind. This is completely normal, and you are safe!

  1. Durian Waterfall

If you’re looking for something that’s off the beaten path and a waterfall that you will literally have to yourself, Durian waterfall is a must visit on this trip! The waterfall is nestled at the back of a durian forest that is completely free to visit, and when you make it to the top, you are welcomed by a small swimming hole and an oasis of peace. We spent hours goofing around, relaxing listening to the water, and just staring at how beautiful it is. Totally worth the visit.

  1. Scooter Around the Island

It’s no secret that the best way to get around Langkawi is by scooter. What people don’t mention is just how beautiful it is to drive around the island. It maybe takes an hour and a half to cover the perimeter of the island, but the entire time you will have gorgeous ocean views with islands in the distance, mountains surrounding you, and plenty of street vendors to stop off at along the way!

  1. Langkawi Skycab

The Langkawi skycab is known for having some incredible views of Langkawi on its peaceful 15-minute ride. The gondola takes you to the top of a mountain where you will then have access to the Langkawi Sky Bridge as well, some food vendors, and even a small hike! Make sure that you bring your camera because the views from this attraction will absolutely stun you! Once you get to the top, there are several platforms that you can walk along for those Instagram worthy shots. The Skycab entrance is similar to that of a theme park. There are restaurants located outside of the carpark, and once you get inside there is the 3D art museum, simulators, gift shop, and of course the Skycab.

The price for all of the attractions is $10 but does not include the price for the Skybridge. If you are going to come here, bring your bathing suit because our number 4 on this list is just a two-minute ride away! Speaking of…

  1. Seven Wells Waterfall

Seven Wells actually has two different places for swimming and is by far the most beautiful waterfall in Langkawi. When you arrive at the car park, start walking up the steep hill. After about five minutes you will see a sign on the left that will send you down a woodsy path that opens up to this gorgeous waterfall. Here you can swim, cliff jump, and just stare at the gorgeous cascading water.

When you’re done there, continue hiking up for another 30 minutes and reach the top of Seven Wells Waterfall. Here there is a natural “waterslide” made out of the rocks, pools you can swim in and a lookout over the falls. Be VERY careful when you are up there and don’t try to go past the barricades. This cascade has taken the lives of many who don’t respect its power.

  1. Jet Ski Island Hopping

What an experience and an incredible 3 hours! After pushing the jetskis into the water on the beachfront, be ready for the ride of a lifetime. You will be dazzled with a tour of the Langkawi archipelago, spot eagle, and even swim in a crater lake. Add swimming in the open ocean and a little wave jumping and you have yourself a day with Seeman watersports. Their prices were great and their guides were funny.

  1. Langkawi Friday Night Market (Ayer Hangat)

I can’t think of a single day that we missed the Langkawi night markets! There is a night market in a different part of the island each night of the week. Our favorite out of all of them was the Ayer Hangat Market. It was the largest night market in Langkawi and had the most variety! There are tons of stalls selling anything from food and drinks, to clothing and accessories. It’s fun to just walk around, but an incredible place to indulge in traditional Malay and Indian food. When you go you MUST try the Nasi Candar, Roti Canai, Murtabak, and the Rice flour fried donuts! We actually loved it so much we did a full Night Market food review that you can check out by right here!

  1. Kilim Karst Geoforest Park

We have made it to the # 1 on our Langkawi Top 10! If you only had one day in Langkawi, this is what I would want you to go see. Kilim Geoforest park is quite a special adventure! We paid $30USD per person to go on a four-hour tour of the Kilim Geoforest Park and have ZERO regrets. We went through Mangrove Forests, entered a bat cave and fed stingrays! Then we had monkeys invade our boat, and ended the day swimming on a private beach. I even got to kiss a shark! It was fun, informative, and seriously beautiful! If there is one tour you pay for, pay for this one. Yes, even more than the Jet Ski tour!

And there you have it! We hope your trip to Langkawi is just as amazing as ours was! Hope you enjoyed this Langkawi Top 10 post!
