Starting out the list, I have the STUNNING Langkawi Island. Langkawi, is an archipelago of 99 Islands in the Andaman Sea, off the coast of both Thailand and Malaysia. With top attractions like the Langkawi Sky Bridge and gorgeous waterfalls, I’m surprised there aren’t more tourists on this tiny slice of paradise! Langkawi is at the top of this bucket list because it’s one of the few places that is still undiscovered.
Activities in Langkawi include Parasailing, Jet Ski Island Hopping, and cliff jumping off of its 4 incredible waterfalls! The island is extremely cheap and has something to suit every budget! If you’re wondering where to travel to this summer, Langkawi is THE place to go! Wondering what to do when you get there? Worry not, pal! I’ve created a complete guide to Langkawi, Malaysia so you don’t miss out on ANYTHING!

Guys, I can’t rave enough about how beautiful Railay Beach, Thailand is.  Just a short, 10-minute boat ride from Krabi’s Nopparat Thara beach, you will stumble into what many others would consider paradise. Completely surrounded by limestone cliffs, Railay Beach is separated from Mainland Krabi and feels more like a private island than another Thai beach.

Go to Phra Nang Beach!

When you arrive on Railay West, you will be immediately welcomed by a shoreline peppered with resorts, but a short walk in will unveil Railay’s true, untouched beauty. Phra Nang Beach is toward the back of Railay East and is world renowned for its rock-climbing, dramatic beach nestled in the cliffside, and turquoise waters. Whether you’re into sunbathing, or into more adventurous activities, Phra Nang Beach has something for everybody!

From the delicious food, and rich culture, to the pristine beaches and impressive limestone cliffs, it’s no wonder people obsess over this place.  We’ve seen a lot of beautiful places, but none have even come CLOSE to Railay Beach, Thailand. Need more proof? We had only a week booked, and we ended up staying for three!

Since my childhood, I always fantasized about going to Paris and seeing the Eiffel Tower. There was something about eating flaky, fresh croissants, all while walking through the streets of France that I loved. The study abroad advisor told me that unfortunately, there wasn’t a program suited for me in Paris. I remembered Facebook-stalking all of my friends when they studied abroad in Florence and loving their pictures. Since I knew that I wanted to travel and my friends had been there before it also felt like the safest option. A week later I mustered up the courage to give my deposit for the Florence Program! I swiftly began booking all of the travel arrangements for my almost two-month adventure!

During that trip, many days were spent eating Gusta Pizza and drinking wine on the edge of a bridge that overlooked the Arno River. Evenings we walked around the town trying to figure out how people created something so beautiful. It’s no wonder Dante, Michelangelo, and Leonardo Da Vinci were so inspired. I remember going to L’Academia (the museum where The David lives) and seeing a painting from the 1200s that depicted the Palazzo Vecchio, a building that I had to pass every single day to get to class! I was shocked that I was able to see, over 600 years later, a building that inspired them to create a masterpiece! Florence truly has a way of sweeping you off your feet. It shows you that even when people had limited resources, their imaginations took them to achieve things far greater than they imagined.

It’s no secret that Bali is one of the most picture perfect places on this planet. If you don’t believe me, you can just head on to any travel vloggers Instagram and see a million pictures they’ve taken! Absolutely pristine waterfalls and dramatic mountainsides are what will define your Balinese Vacation. Wildlife lives harmoniously with humans on this Indonesian Island, so don’t be surprised if a monkey jumps on you to steal your snacks. Long-Tailed Macaques run amuck through the island and are known as the Balinese Mafiosos! Don’t be scared, keep food hidden away, and don’t make eye contact and you will be just fine!

Ubud, Bali

If you’re a yogi, make sure that you visit Bali’s cultural heartland, Ubud.  Traditional Balinese architecture is everywhere, and so are Yoga Studios and Yoga instructor courses! Ubud is also well regarded for being extremely vegetarian and vegan-friendly. At Balinese prices, you will get a total steal for vegan food in comparison to the US, and rest assured it’s delicious!

For those of you looking for poppin’ nightlife and cool bars, Canggu is where you need to be. Well known for being a prime surf spot, and having some of Bali’s most beautiful seaside temples, Canggu is really a feast for the eyes. Be warned, if you are a karaoke fiend like I am, Karaoke joints over there are actually brothels. You have been warned.

For one of the coolest bars in town, make sure you pass by Pretty Poison and watch the dozens of pro skaters showoff in the center pool! Right in that area, there is also a hidden bar nestled in a mini-mart freezer called Black Cat. If you see a giant crowd in front of what looks like a 7-11, you’ve made it to the right place!

If you think you’re going to be able to knock out Tokyo in a week, think again! The city of skyscrapers is literally the size of a US state, and has enough activities to keep you busy for years! Beyond being picturesque, and rich in both culture and history, Tokyo has something for every kind of traveler. If you’re into fashion you need to go to Harajuku and just walk around! Downtown’s trendy fashion district is a total dream and fun to explore. Is Anime more your style? Don’t miss Akihabara, a district filled with arcades, figurine stores, and Pokemon shaped everything! Feeling a bit adventurous? Don’t miss your chance to climb the tallest mountain in Japan, Mt. Fuji! Only an hour away from Tokyo, you too can say “Ya Ta”, “I did it” in Japanese when you reach the top of this ferocious mountain!
